The Alaskan Chill
Here are a few things that I have learned about Alaska so far:
| Number one, it is SO cold. It is a different kind of cold than anything I have ever experienced in Utah. The second you walk outside you can feel it hit you right in the bones. It takes your breath away almost immediately. It's wonderful. The air is so clean here.
| The tap water here is amazing! Better than any bottle of water at the store. I am constantly filling up my water bottle from our bathroom sink. Tastes just like Fiji Water.
| The sun sets very early here. It is completely dark by about 3:00 to 3:30 pm.
| Sequoyah took me to the most amazing coffee shop for chai. It's called Silverbow Bakery and it is to die for! So delish! Best chai tea I have ever tasted.
| Ravens and crows are all over the place. I think they are beautiful, but they annoy Sequoyah because they are can be loud. {ca-caw!}
| Eagles are also common. I saw one my first day here. I just wish I had the right kind of lens to take a picture. There was no way I would have been able to capture it with my 50 mm. {boooo}
| There are so many cool people here and I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to meet them. I love my job, and I love Alaska!
